Central Asia and North America are the two markets I work in every day: ABK Trans in Kazakhstan and GreenMoving in California. In this paper I examine how the digital economy erases the distance between them — and which strategies let a logistics company operate transnationally.
Central Asia and North America sit at different poles of logistics maturity, yet they are converging on the same model: the client expects a transparent price, an exact timeline, and real-time cargo tracking. The digital economy makes these expectations universal — and opens a window for Central Asian companies to reach a global standard of service.
A logistics company's competitiveness today is defined not by the size of its fleet, but by the quality of its digital infrastructure: platforms, data, and the speed of client communication.
Cloud TMS and CRM systems, electronic document flow, online tracking, and digital sales channels make it possible to run operations on two continents from a single point. What once required branches and representative offices is now solved by a platform and well-built processes.
The paper examines practical models: partner networks and agency schemes instead of capital-heavy branches, multimodal chains through key hubs, and localizing service to each market's standards on a single digital foundation. This approach lowers the barrier to entry and allows scaling without losing quality.
Regulatory differences, customs procedures, incompatible document standards, currency and sanctions risks — all of it is part of a transnational strategy. The winner is the company that builds these into the model up front rather than discovering them later.
The paper's conclusions draw on the practice of rail logistics in Kazakhstan (ABK Trans) and a service moving business in California (GreenMoving): two markets, two regulatory regimes, one digital logic of management.
